Peter Abrahams is a retired Anglican priest. He grew up in the Yorkshire Dales where he discovered a talent for drawing at an early age and the boarding school he attended gave him a sound start in the classical art of calligraphy and document illumination. During his 30 year working life as a parish priest he used his artistic skills as a pastoral tool to bring comfort to many bereaved parishioners, through personalised memorials and over 20 Books of Remembrance. He also undertook many special dedication and commemorative art projects.
Since his retirement as Vicar of Colnbrook, near Heathrow, in June 2006, Peter now devotes much of his time to artwork. He is currently preparing a series of detailed pen and ink drawings of local interest for exhibit later in the year, along with several illuminated calligraphy private commissions.
